Dymond web-site severly broken?

Worked for me just now. Doesn't mean it wasn't broken though.

It works with IE, so it's broken in the sense that it poorly-written/designed so that it only works with a certain browswers. I'm sure it has never been tested with anything other than IE.

I was investigating LiPo chargers, but if they don't want my business, I'll look elsewhere.

I was going to send them an e-mail telling them that their web page is broken, but they don't appear to have an e-mail address either.

Under Mozilla, it fails for me like it did for you.

Ditto under Firefox.

Under konqueror, it works -- when you mouse over the pictures, a menu appears that you can select, and that works.

I doubt it's that they don't want your business. It's just that whomever designed the web site didn't realize that he needed to make sure it worked in browsers other than IE. Shortsighted, yes, but hardly `they don't need your business' ...

A bigger problem is that the blind have no way of reading the web page at all. Not that rc-dymond.com probably has many blind customers, but even so -- your web page really should be at least minimally usable with something like lynx.

Well, maybe, Doug. It may get you in contact with somebody that can help, but Helmut and wife now reside in San Diego, and run the business from a retail shop in that location. BTW, the FAX addy looks looks like a placeholder that never got filled in. FWIW I've found them to be nice people and good to deal with. That is to say, give 'em some slack and you won't be sorry.

May have something to do with your security settings or with Java.

I agree. I occasionally use w3m, and people with properly designed web sites that work with non-graphical browsers get a lot of credit in my book.

I could, but how much hassle does Dymond expect its customers to have to go through?

Weird. What versions/platforms?

I've got both Javascript and Java enabled, and pop up-menus and "hint" type stuff on other sites work for me with Firefox and Mozilla.

Slightly OT: The with Firefox and the "adblock" extension, the rcgroups.com forums are actually usable! You can eliminate all the ads, avatars, headers, and other useless, time-consuming stuff. It's still not nearly usable as Usenet, but with Firefox/adblock it has crossed the border into the "tolerable" zone.

Yes, and helpful also. They have been known to go several extra steps.

I can't get it to work with Mozilla or Firefox either. It DOES work with IE. If you are able to get it work with either of the previous 2, please let us know the settings you used. It looks like a good place to get stuff. I just don't like to use IE any more than I have to.

works fine for me and looks like a brand new site design! MUCH nicer than their old one!

I tried the all holy firefox and had nothing but problems. Went back to IE. No problems!

I see they have a new charger, too. Peak X 3. Four buttons, banana jacks, LCD make it look like they recased the Super Turbo and added Lithium and Lead into the design. Nice alternative to the Triton. Won't handle as many cells but still a good value if you don't need that many.

As far as we Netscape users are concerned, the site is severly broken. I still see no reason to put up with MSIE nonsense. IMHO, anyone interested in selling anything to anyone is acting contemptuously to a large chunk of potential and interested market by making their sites accessible only to IE. bye, sid.

I sent them an email complaining about it. They deny there is a problem. Screw them, I'll take my business somewhere else.
