li-ion / li-polimer the better brands?

I am looking for a 14.8v (3ah or greater) lithium pack that will be able to easily withstand a 50A discharge on a regular basis.

what Brand preferences have you developed if you fly such a pack?

Thanks :-)

**************************** I have been working on an old topflite Sierra Kit (.40 size trainer) that a friend had started... I hope to fly with an AXI 2826/10 brushless motor and a castle 45A controller and an 11*6 topflite powerpoint prop. I am planning to start testing with a 12cell ni-cd pack to get a better feel for power usage with this confiig.

thanks again

Almost anything except Kokam. heap of utter crap, Kokam.

Best thing is to read up in the ezone discussion groups

- in the batteries forum there are vendor independent tests.

Its usual to go for hifher volts/less amps with LIPOS, but if you want that sort of power I'd make teh packs yiurself from a lot of cells paralelled up.

Maxamps do some cheap 2200 cells - 3 in paralell and as amny in series as you need would get you a decent 6600 pack.

Unless you have real space or weight restrictions, my experience is that running more cells at lower discharge rates gives far better relaibility.

And many of the high discharge cells weigh far more anyway, so the power density of e.g a 15C 4400 over an 8C 6600 may not be as much as you might think at first.
