Range Problem 3030

Just purchased a 2nd hand 3030 Tx, astonished to find the range is appalling :-( Servos chatter at only a few yards....... Cleaned the Arial and the ball joint, but alas no improvement. Changed crystals tried different Rx's still real bad. Any idea's? Cheers John

My experience of Multiplex lead me to believe that the only cure is to replace it with Futaba!

Seriously, I once sold a heli to a guy who used my (Futaba) servos and his own mpx radio. Setting it up was not easy, bit once down, flying was impossible. He blamed the servos I had sold him, until one day I was with him at the field and we removed his (brand new) mpx rx and replaced it with my own Futaba. I still had the programming for the model in my tx and was able to fly it immediately, whereas he had been unable to achieve a stable hover after several weeks of trying. The rx, though new, was faulty.

I remain unimpressed by mpx radio.

If you are doing this inside it is normal and is caused by reflections. Take the whole mess outside and try again. Gord Schindler MAAC6694

I have many friends with 3030's and they are very happy with them. Once that is they have got to grips with the programming. Maybe that was the case here. I also have a cockpit, great set. Regards John

Sold as the owner passed away! Regards John

Tried it a long distance outside at the field with arial up, no change. John
