I've seen guys with the big double Gershners loaded with the best money can buy, that did'nt know s*it. & guys with nothing more than a few basics in a home made wooden bottom & a small leather handle Kennedy that were the best. What does that tell ya?
I've replaced the Jays / Lays/ Salsa/chips / Cheetos/ candy bars/ pretzels I've been munching down for years with "Gils Salad/Veggie Bar" for the afternoon stretch. It really is a lot cheaper. Under 5 bucks a week shopping at Aldi. Mr PV says raw broccoli ant that good for ya? So are cigarettes, working with graphite,caribide-grinding dusts...oh drink'in $strarbucks$ & EDM'ing beryllium copper. Now they tell me, after I did all that. WTF? Whats next ? Mesofelathoma? whatever?
Oh the Delrin chips will also make nice flower type arrangments - clean - nice & soft- won't cutya.. ok I'm wierd. I've had contests to see who can "walk off" the longest continuous chip on the manual lathe. IIRC my longest was about 25-30' then the carriage ran into the chuck If possible, I always turn from left to right - faceing id - od - now tell me I'm not weird. What's the most that can happen? I knock the tail stock off the end of the bed or jam the cross feed all the way out & bust a shear pin. Instead of baby sitting a manual lathe - It gives me more time to check on the CNC's running long cuts/ auto surface grinder/power feed Bridgeports on 10 min cuts/ sweeping/ cleaning s*it up - put'in away & most important B.S ing- discussing politics& how to solve world hunger + the salad bar!

I had some tall stuff once. It almost fell over when I hit a 4-40 nut on the floor one day. Luckily the shop I'm in now has a lot of company tools, so I can keep my personal collection short.
I think Vinny is too embarrassed to put up a picture of his Garbage Freight toolbox.
Cliffy Huprich doesn't have any tools or a toolbox to put them in. What few tools Cliffy might have had back in 1952 he never could learn how to use. Perhaps Cliffy still has some questions we could answer on how to use a screwdriver?
Hope this helps others to understand why neither has posted a picture of their toolbox.

With the way stuff is jammed together in most machining job shops the only choice you really have is to go up. You also have to create multiple toolboxes for different needs. That's why I'm selling off my Kennedy Versa Carts.

Highlights the beauty of a shop having company tools where needed. When something isn't good enough to get things done, it's the owner's fault, not the employee's.

Highlights the beauty of not having to find and depend on company tools that get abused because employees don't always take care of tools that aren't their own. Worse, some employees treat their own tools like "s". When you use your own tools you know what has been done with the tool / what the tools history is. Personally, I'd never want do use the dial caliper that you show on top of your toolbox. I'm sure many would have no problem using it.
That's one way of looking at it. I think it's a narrow view and it's not one I agree with.

***** WTF did that even mean? I got two old kennedys bolted together with 3/4" plywood on top and bottom supported on 8 wheels, with a surface plate and a light on it. Nothing sticking out beyond the thickness of the boxes. The middle wheels are about .200" higher than the outside wheels allowing it to spin. I laid a 1000 pound mold on top of it...still rolled like butter. It's setup to use...not for show. I could walk past your box and touch it with my pinky causing it to fall over. Your box is a cluster f*ck box. My box is useful. To each his own.
That was Jon being funny, it is a "Boring" joke......LOL
