The Victim 98 Malibu.. ign lock would not turn.. I suggested check the floor shift, check the fuses.. and if that didnt work-the local parts store sold the lock (GM BRAND, BTW) for $120.. I would pin and install for $50..

3pm..the local dealership calls..
98 malibu, towed in, he told the service writer I was too high..
ign lock - $160.
1 hour shop time programming -$65 they called ME to get it dug out and pin it.. $50.. AMAZING what graphite does to a side bar lock.. (they did the programming with tool)
tow truck..$50...
GEE...
and the CAUSE of the problem was a key copied off about 1/2 cut SIDEWAYS..
So, for $150, he just spent a nice hunk of change..
