Car lockout question

First, let me say that I'm a professional computer technician who learnedhow to pick locks to get into locked computer cases where the owner had lostthe key. I've also been able to open some filing cabinets and office doorsfor clients, but only when someone who I knew was in charge was present. Mysuccess rate has been pretty good, especially with wafer locks, but lockpicking did become kind of a hobby for me. I did try to help a neighboronce who was locked out of her house, but we eventually had to call alocksmith. So, you're dealing with an ethical amateur who uses thecraft/trade/art professionally, but knows when to call in a pro.Anyway, here's my question: I read that you can get into a car by bending acoat hanger and sliding it between the window and door, grabbing thelatching mechanism and pulling up, much like using Slim Jim. Often, I willcome across a damsel in distress who's locked out of her car and would loveto help, but since I don't have the training I'm afraid I may damagesomething inside the door doing this, which would cost far more than callinga locksmith.So, does this really work? And does it work with today's modern cars? Ican't believe they would go through all the trouble to make these high-techlocks and keys if you can open a car door this easily. I've seen a pro dothis, and it seems to me the only reason it works is that a pro knows what'sinside the door and has the proper tools. I don't, so I avoid helpingpeople like the plague.Sheldon

Well, Mormons don't drink coffee. But I do put my glass of water on the cupholder that slides out when I push the button. Does that help?

Given the fact that Unix, Linux or whatever your preferred OS may be will run on most any machine that will run Windows what has any windows problem real or perceived have to do with the machine?

Dear Mr. Hoffman,

As it happens, I'm a single adult rep. I'm single myself. And part of my job in church is trying to help introduce singles to each other.

Every LDS church congregation oughta have a single adult rep (sometimes one each, one man and one woman singles rep). Your nearest congregation oughta be able to introduce you to a bunch.
