Actually, if I read you correct, this type of lock is usually an Arrow lock.
I have not heard that Kwikset has switched over to this arrangement, YET!
Is there a name on the lock or bolt assembly? Does it really say Kwikset?
Usually, the door installers use this type of lock.
Beware, there are some circumstances where a double sided deadbolt lock is a fire hazzard & should not be used.
