I have several deadbolt locks but they aren't matched. Tired of fumbling for the right key, I figure I'll replace them all with a set that all uses the same key. They don't have to be the best made, just adequate security, nothing major. I found some online sources (haven't tried the stores, including Home Depot, but maybe I should). What's an economical solution? I'm using 4 but figure I could use as many as 7 if they don't cost too much. They can all be single cylinder, but maybe it would be cool if one were double cylinder. Thanks for any help.

First; if all of your existing locks are the same keyway (will the key to one of them at least **go into** all the other ones?) they can be keyed alike.
If not, yes you can but them all keyed alike at Home Depot, etc. They will have a sticker on them with a key number. Just buy all your locks on that number.
There are, however some potential problems with that. A) The locks _you_ buy won't be the only ones on the shelf with that key number. There are probably dozens of locks on that shelf with the same "Keyed Alike" number. And B) the locks you buy at HD are not going to be the best quality. Do you really want the cheapest locks you can get protecting your family and/or property?
If you get them from a locksmith you can get a better quality lock. Lori (ILCO) makes a very good deadbolt and it can be keyed to _any_ door key. The are in the $44-$60 range. But they are good. So good in fact that when I install them in a residence, I guarantee them for life. (Ilco doesn't, but I do, personally.)
Not all locksmiths do this but if a customer buys locks from me (and I install them), I key them alike at no charge. Then I charge to key their existing locks to the new ones.
If the locks you have can be keyed alike, you can also key the Lori deadbolts to whatever they are.
And there's a much better chance that there won't be four other houses on your street with the same key. :)
had a local business some years back, called about their back door.. they got 'almost' broke into, and couldn't get the door open..
the DOOR was a total mess-they had to replace it. HOWEVER the Lori deadbolt was BENT, but it kept the door from being opened.. was a PITA in daylight WITH time, to get it out so they could get into the door.. this WAS one of those Lori DB's

Most locksmiths can do this for you, a very routine request. Either rekey the locks you have so that they are on the same key, or replace them with the same brand all around.
Do the keys go into the other lock's keyholes? If so, there is a good chance the locks you have can be rekeyed simply and safely.
