Looking for 6 pin lockset

Looking for 6 pin cylinder locksets that use a Schlage "C" keyway. Key in round knob would be fine. Midrange priced, antique bronze finish.

Although I like Schlage locks their website doesn't seem to specify the number of pins so I'd like some suggestions.

Almost all Schlage are drilled 6 pin & pinned 5 pin.

They'll sell DIRECT to the end user, so most of us are not carrying their products anymore!

If you want an "Off Shore" product such as their's, try LSDA or U S Lock. Just as good & cheaper.

he doesn't have them then he can order. at the very least he can tell you the type you're looking for.

good luck

LOTS make 6 pin cylinders that will go in MOST BETTER grade locks sets so, find the lockset you like, THEN change the cylinder,,, you DO tho probably need a grade 2 or better tho...

Got a url for LOTS? Google is finding all kind of weird stuff with the search term "lots" +"locks" <g>

Larry

Changing the cylinder is ok by me - I have a Schlage keying kit.

My experience is different.

When I started building my house I bought locks at Builders Square. Best Schlages I could find there. All are drilled 5 pin and you cannot insert a 6 pin cylinder into the short barrel.

At least the deadbolts have a "step" on the barrel face to insert a longer cylinder.

I'm also looking for a source of 6 pin cylinders.

Schlage makes various product lines. Sounds like you bought F-series, which are drilled 5.

Their A line and D line knob locks are drilled six.

Larry,

Walk into your local locksmith shop tell them you are interested in buying X number of Schlage A locks, so many entry so many passage etc. Ask them what they can do for you regarding price and delivery.
