hydraulic motor control question

I have a small hydraulic milling that I want to run with a



1-1/2 HP motor/hydraulic pump. Will this valve work good to control speed

If you think you can make this flow divider valve into a proportional servo valve, I think you're dreaming. There is a reason Moog servo valves cost $5000 each. But, you don't really say how accurately you need to control speed, so maybe it will work.

don't need perfect speed control, but I don't want a large variation in speed as the load changes.

I've used these with fairly good results in the past if you don't need to be extremely accurate. As it bleeds excess fluid over a relief be careful of heat buildup - especially at slow speeds - unless you are using a variable volume pressure compensated pump.
