The idea that there is a "liberal vs. conservative" continuum to the real world is in itself pure propaganda. Good ideas are neither liberal nor conservative, and the technique of over simplification and polarization (us vs. them) is classical - but unfortunately seems to have worked again.

Furthermore the "fascist conservativerepublicancenter democratliberalsocialistcommunist" concept is in fact *one dimensional*. Therefore it is clearly a false and misleading way of seeing reality. It isn't even two dimensional (that requires another "axis" as in X & Y). Furthermore it implies that there can be no "functions" that are not continuous and linear - which is short is BS. The real world isn't so simple nor are such glib definitions useful if you want to think beyond "knee jerk" slogans and simplistic ideas.

It's a technique used to control the masses - which if you believe then you have been led astray and duped.

So, if you have bought into this nonsense, then it is time to rethink and reconsider reality. The world is not one dimensional, nor is it flat.

You could, and I have. But it's a weak argument. There's no declared war, so there are no war powers in the historical sense, and the Supreme Court, which defers to the Executive in times of declared war, has a damned good reason to be cautious now.

If you can't draw a sharp line between declared war and Executive action, then you can't draw a sharp line on where to temporarily suspend Constitutional guarentees. Therefore, Gitmo is a problem.

Probably not. You just haven't thought through the S.C. decisions concerning war powers. The case law will show they've done an excellent job of keeping the lines drawn clearly -- until now.

Ill try to keep that in mind as my taxes are being raised, my 2nd Amendment rights are being curtailed, and political correctness becomes law.

Of course, Ill give it even more weight when my taxes are being lowered or refunded, my 2nd Amendment rights are being enumerated and political correctness is exposed as censorship of common sense ideas.

Ah, but is it coated with that handy contrast-enhancing medium, black/white paint? Just think, you can take the most complicated, multi-faceted issue, and with one application from the can of paint, make it all look either black or white. Or maybe both at once.

Well....not exactly..the standard labels pretty much apply.as the first part of my comment regarded the Left, and the second part regarded the Right. See above.

While not absolutes..they hold pretty much true on the whole over the last 40 yrs.
