OT: Anyone else notice this?

When I check my email I get a daily dose of spam, most of which is the undesireable type. The interesting thing is that I haven't received any of the nasty spam since 8/30. I was begining to wonder if my mail server was down or something, but it seems the source of this crap was NO, or routed through there.

Anyone else notice this?

I had not thought much about it, but I, too, seem to have very little spam since the hurricane.

Yeah, same here. I even commented to my bride that the spam had dropped drastically, but I hadn't made the connection with the hurricane. If that be the case, at least one thing good came from it.

Your parents named you well.

Nope, I don't get but one or two pieces of spam per day. Maybe your email provider turned on a filter.

According to DE :

*All* spam is undesirable in my book. :-) Some it just a bit more offensive than overwrite.

One of the big spammers in this country was located in Slidel LA, which got hit almost as bad as New Orleans did.

His name is/was Ronnie Scelson. He is #5 on SpamHaus' list of the ten worst spammers.

Now, if only the hurricane had *focused* on that one individual. As I understand it, he had filed for bankruptcy a while back, owing (among other things) some ISP $50k.

I'm still getting spam -- but the flavor has changed a little bit.

Enjoy, DoN.
