We weren't talking about the stolen election. We were talking about the huge mess of the economy. The biggest runup of the biggest budget deficit in history. Please try to stay on topic.

Uh... the U.S. *is* a republic, with representative instead of straight democracy.

Are you really asking what the U.S. would be if only the Republicans (note the capital when referring to the political party) ran the country?

Interesting question, actually...

(Also, as an aside, I think Gunner identifies himself as a Libertarian.)

Gary,

You've written very clearly what I don't have the talent to write. I agree totally with your grasp of the situation.

There are only a few of us who can see past the current Liberal bias on this list to objectively look at facts. That's too bad.

Of course, everyone has a right to their opinion... but the future is too important to make important judgements based on greed and envy on the part of many. They think it is right to steal the hard earned assets of others simply because they are out-numbered. The greed is mostly on the part of those who consider themselves to be low to middle class.

Blinded as they are, they fail to understand the very basics of our economy. It's scary that they are the most out-spoken here, although we can pray that they are actually the minority in the real world.

And here I was going to say that Gary was able to look beyond the current neocon bias, at all the facts objectively. I guess it can be said that if he garners praise from both sides he must be square in the middle.

How long do you have?

The budget deficit, for one. Like they said about the 'no lobbiest left behind bill' and all.

Like Gary said, a run-up in fuel prices is going to hurt.

Spending in this country is out of control. Somebody has to stop this. I don't think the man who was in charge of the disaster should keep his job.

I missed the staff meeting but the minutes show Gunner wrote back on Wed, 13 Oct 2004 04:00:48 GMT in misc.survivalism :

Ah.

And here I thought you were a Budist. Buddhist!

Oh well, before you can find enlightenment, God will have to lead you out from error. Not my job. :-)

I just realized, I prefer the GI surplus cap "Cap, Combat, BDU" (DLA100-01-B-0001 9701-01-123-3161 MADE IN U.S.A.) which has a neat little pocket for Maps. and Stuff

I could even put tinfoil in it!

There is only one war criminal and traitor running in the presidential election this year. His name is John Kerry.

The Vietnamese are a very warm and generous people, as anyone who's been there can attest. They know Kerry was on the right side in that war, or at least he made the courageous effort as soon as he got back.

Further, I believe the Vietnamese could be persuaded to wait until after President Cheney and VP Kenny Boy Lay are hung for war crimes in the Hague.

And where, exactly, was Herr shrubbie? AWOL from a cushey *safe* country-club-like guard job that his family's pull got him?

And what was Gunner doing at the same time? Killing kids in Vietnam?

WHY has Gunner failed to respond on the original post to this thread? Can it be that he *cannot* support his views & claims?

Maybe the same day we get to inject Bush for desertion during time of war, or maybe we will just get to jail him in a Federal Penitentiary for obstruction of Federal employees during an election, and gather up all the other Federal criminals who crossed state lines to commit election crimes...

Then we will have Edwards as President.

How deliciously childish!

No wonder America's kids can't get an education - with people like these as parents, the kids don't stand a chance...

And they actually think the Party will support them when it has all-encompassing powers.

They should have paid attention in World History class.

Hey, Runner and Co. believe that just because the two bill that Kerry voted on had the same dollar amount, THEY WERE THE SAME BILL. Course, he is pretty silent on the fact that Bush pre-vote vetoed the first bill, then signed the second bill...

And the big "Kerry voted against..." items were one and the same that Cheney voted against...

Runner is such a rube.
