But all that tells us is that they didn't have enough evidence to convict. Whether he thought his life was at risk is problematic. The question was, given what little evidence there was available, was there enough to convince the jury that a "reasonable person" would NOT have believed that his life (or serious bodily harm) were at risk?
And there wasn't. So he went free -- maybe justly, maybe not.

Correct. The prosecution failed to meet its burden. That's the way these trials work in this country.

He certainly seemed to think so. It is how our court system is set up. In a self defense situation in most states, the burden is on the prosecution to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defense claim of self defense has no merit.
We will never know. Zimmerman never testified, a claim of stand your ground was never presented. The entire burden was on the prosecution and they failed. Part of the "innocent until proven guilty" thingy.
The point is that Dudu and GOP have even less reason than I do for taking the stance that they do.

I think Dudu means Palestinians, firing on unarmed Jew kids.
No, because Zimmerman has a long history, both before and after the Martin shooting of violent and psychotic behavior.
So does Martin.
Ed, you have to stop trying to make sense of Stormin'. He's serves as the village idiot in alt.survival. We could have him transfered to your home group if you like.
Depends. Does the UK get your posts ?

Some of them do. I wonder what they think. I remember going to London for the first time in 1968. The first thing the young son of the hostel owner asked me was, "Do you have any guns?" It tells you something about what they think about American culture...

No, you prefer claymores.
I've heard Japanese visit Hawaii to shoot cowboy guns.

Why even bother having trials? We'll jsut have you GOPer decide these things.
Liar. Martin never had any trouble with the police or at school except he got caught once with an EMPTY bad that allegedly had contained marijuana. Period.
The Germans are surprisingly fascinated with cowboys and Indians, though not so much with loudmouth Texans in person. I quickly learned to avoid the restaurants near US bases. Fortunately for my wanderings few Americans dared stray very far off post.

Don't try to patent your idea.

I don't doubt it. My Japanese friends at Sodick were crazy to go to the range and shoot my handguns.
I wouldn't think of it since it's an old idea.
Actually that the very gun I was thinking of when I made this suggestion.

[Ed]The European view of Americans and American culture are quite complex. I got another shot of this a couple of days ago when I read about the Swede's love of American cars. This was a jolt, although I had a foretaste of it many years ago, when I travelled around Europe with a Danish friend who was as big a car nut as I am. He wanted to know everything about my mother's 429 Thunderbird:
