Van Norman #36

Before I forget to post em...this is something I bought last week. Little miller that we are going to be using in our shop.

Came with about 500 lbs of tooling and another 200lbs of cutters etc etc. I think there is every accessory in the catalog with the machine.

I think I did ok for $1500? Course..cost another $350 to move it..shrug

The machine had been rebuilt 12 yrs ago, according to the records and has been used very little since then.

Ill post some additional pictures of the tooling etc. The gomer in the photos is my partner.

Oh..btw..the owner has a georgious #2 Milwaukee mill with a pretty decent amount of tooling for $1k, if anyone is interested. Location Brea, California.

I think..think they can be talked down to about $500ish

That is some heavy duty machine, Gunner. How do you plan to power it? Will there be enough oomph in the power drop to your shop?

Looks cool, is the motor 5 HP? If it really is rebuilt and barely uised, it is a great deal, congrats.

Im partners with a guy and setting up machinery in a new business in Anaheim, California. That machine is NOT at my house. The foundations in my shop wouldnt hold it....

Welcome back. :)

BTW, the friends that were planning to move their business between Christmas and New Years finally got the keys to the building a couple days ago and the move is on, while they are in full production instead of during a two week shutdown. A lot of work ahead to prep the property, and move everything without affecting any shipping dates. The new location alread has a couple large 3 phase air compressors, so I may end up with one or two of their 240 units.

They also won a Van Norman 3-22 milling machine at an auction a few weeks ago for $531. I located the manual in PDF as a scan of the TM on Google books. They haven't decided if what to do with their Bridgeport.
