Myford Lathe Bearings

Requesting help, the 2 bearings (7205) on the outboard end of the lath



spindle, which way around should they go ? As they came out does no look right, they have probably been changed several times during th life of the machine. TIA

The tapered outer races are fitted back to back with the larger opening of each outer shell facing the two threaded rings A bit like this :>

They fit back to back as Bob gas already described, if you look here:-

you will find a link to the S7 manual if you haven't got one. The drawing you want is on page 25. Just changed mine without too many problems but the adjustment of the locking rings is critical as it adjusts the clearance of the main bearing.
