The problem is that anything over 2kg HAS to go by Parcelforce, whereas inland Royal Mail carry up to 10kg (might be more or less)

We have the most expensive overseas postage anywhere, and it takes ages as well!

I tend to strongly agree with this. I've recently bought new angle blocks from an American e-bayer and the delivery cost to the UK from deep in the mid-west using the USPS priority mail was around £4, and they arrived within 3 days. Actually the whole thing was a bargain with a boxed set (incl dely) at around £11.
