AltAcc Software Issues

Arghhhhh - am having a breakdown over this problem ;)

In the past I have had V1.04 of the analyser prog working with Win98 with no issues at all. Now (having lost my 2 original floppy disks) I am installing what seems to be the same version from a borrowed mini-cd and every time it is killing the PC!

The only difference I can think of is that now the PC has wifi network stuff installed, and it is this that seems to be causing the problem. On install the software refuses to talk to the altacc and after reboot I get an Unable to Initialize Windows Sockets message and the network I dead.

If I uninstall, fix the winsock.dll and wsock32.dll issue and try again there is a problem moving file aguage.ocx. If I uninstall, remove all network related items and try again I get the same result!

How the serial comms of the altacc is killing the sockets is beyond me, and so is a fix for this issue! Any ideas people?

Many thanks;

You may have a hardware conflict between the serial port, and the network adapter. Can you change the address or the IRQ address of the serial port in the BIOS of the computer. You can access most modern BIOS's by pressing F12 or the DEL key as the system boots.
