He caught AC! Does he get a t-shirt?

Pardon my misstatement then.

I am imperfect and admit it.

Ignorance is bliss!

I killfile nobody and I truly regret it with Ray Dunakin and Chris Taylor and Mark Bundick (content free posters).

According to the "chemist" in my local rocket club, no one would use AP in a volcano project . He says ammonium dichromate is the standard chemical for making volcanoes, as it decomposes into chromic oxide in manner that simulates a volcano erupting. Aluminum can be added to make more sparks. (The CSIs found both AP and Aluminum Powder alongside the volcano models).

He says that AP would never be used in a volcano displays, and that somebody (the show's consultants) screwed up.

Or maybe they knew exactly what they were doing...?

This should be in the FAQ.

CSI is almost guaranteed to make syndication.

Yeah. Hydrofluoric acid. Which is used to etch glass, not "clean" it.

It's always eye opening when a source you trust to be reasonably accurate says something about something you actually know about and it turns out to be BS...

I'm reminded of the old joke about Velikovsky. An astronomer and a geologist meet at a "Worlds in Collision" seminar. The astronomer tells the geologist, "Well, his astronomy is BS, but I thought his geological evidence was compelling". To which the geologist replies "Oh? His geology is BS, but I thought the astronomical evidence was strong!".
