Bull$h!t!

NAR has evolved a LOT in the past 3 decades. What once was a competition centric organization now does competition, sport launches, HPR, outreach, legal, and much more.

Further, for many years TRA offered NO rocket insurance to any one other than its BOD, while NAR offered the insurance necessary to secure flying fields. Only recently did TRA insurance finally cover its MEMBERS.

BTW, vom Braun died in 1977

Sure is. So are HPR motors.

I've been flying HPR since 1989, using computers for my rockets since 1971, and first uded Kevlar and carbon fibre on my models in the late 70s. I still do all of the above. You don't have to give up model rockets to fly HPR.

Just who is this anonymous "lunarlos" anyway, and where did he get such a distorted view of reality?

And as one final (hopefully!) follow-up, I received my membership package (with my level 2 membership card!) today. I may have even received it in time to vote -- I took my ballot, selected my candidates, and mailed it in (handed it to the mailman), so if I'm lucky, it'll get there in time for the balloting deadline.

There, I feel better already -- part of the process...

It will. They extended the time for the ballots to get there. Not sure if you are on the newslist. If you are, you've seen what a wacko Art Applewhite is. Anyway anyone seeing him in action would have to be nuts before they vote for him. I'd even vote for Jerry before I'd vote for him.

....and what about all the bullshit the TRA has done over the past 20 years? like financial corruption ? and you don't even have the balls to id yourself...... people know who I am in reality...

so hes a "late-bloomer" when I first came back to rocketry I also didn't "get" HPR.... but over the past 3 years I have come to recognize that there is a place for it....

Bigger is not better... especiallu when the popsci and discovery channel highlights the explosions, er, cato's .... why is there such an abundance of catos in hpr anyway?

mixing apples and oranges, retardo.... NAR was orginally model rocketry.. and yes it was dragged kickin and screaming into the 20th/21st century for HPR.... and yes the NAR and AR have a sorted history....so what? get over it and deal with it...

I would make that "some NAR people".....

You got a problem with "economic self intrest".... wasn't that why TRA was formed? I do agree that both the NAR/TRA should charge its members for HPR certs....it should not be a freebie.... if you wanna play you gotta pay, and I doubt people who spends thopusnads of dollars on HPR would notice a $50 initiaon fee....

Yes the NAR has some "dirt" in its recent past.......this was NOT ones of the NAR's finer days.... nor Estes for that matter......

because it was true you retardo......the NAR was under no obligation to allow people to fire motors that are covered by their insurnace....

conspiricy theory? sheesh.......

so lets smear G.Harry and Vern Estes now....

Vern Estes has been out of the model rocketry biz since 1970? when he sold out to DAMON....

obviously back in the late 60's there wasn't much of a market for the compsoites as 1. they cost more 2. they required special shipping charges that most modelers of that era ( < 18 yrs of age) could afford .

yeah crawl back into the hole you came from.....

I don't want to hone in on Jerry's action. 8-)

After hearing your whining all this time, I'm not surprised that you are batting for the other team.

Doesn't ANYBODY address any issues anymore?

Even if he is a weenie, what about the substance of his comments?

When I ASKED IF TRA had identified any mistakes at all it had made, Ray posted a long personal attack against me. Again without addressing the issue. No other replies were forthcoming either.

Do people really care so little?
