Great Service Report: Uncle Mike's Rocket Shack

Uncle Mike took some time to help me select a birthday present on Monday. We selected a Stone Breaker for a lad who specifically asked for something that would fly on D's and E's. I placed the order on-line and received it today via Priority Mail.

Thanks Uncle Mike.

Nice model. I put a little extra weight in the nose in the form of a snap connector to connect the parachute to the shock cord. The connector I got at Farm King and looks like one of those spring snap connectors on the end of a dog leash. I did mine up with white and did the nosecone tip in red instead of black. I wet sanded, applied the "sticky cals" and then lacquered the model with spray gloss lacquer. Polishes up beautifully with car wax. I get close to 1000' on an E9-6 with rocksim and if there is a wind I have to set a declination angle on the launch rod I use an E9-4. I do have a scale that measures to the nearest gram so I do my rocksim calculations with the actual model weights. I haven't used a higher power engine yet though rocksim predicts around

1500' with an E30-7. I have 5 flights on the E9-4 -6 combo and will wait until I go to a larger field to use a higher thrust engine. I think so much of the model I use a 24 to 30 inch Spherachute on it. Hope he likes it.

If that's the same Mike that used to attend the Jackson launches, he's a good guy. Although he hasn't been there in a while - glad to hear he's ok.
