We have started Descon 16 with a twist on "If you build it, they will come". That was my attitude since it didn't seem to be getting much interest in the discussion groups over nearly a year. So, now we'll see if you put your efforts where you mouth wasn't, er, well, something like that.
We have prizes, but will handle this in an ODD way. We will see which vendors deserve our attention through their support of Descon, but we will not see the prizes until they arrive at the winners doorstep. Now, isn't that ODD.
Also, as entrants provide their input, we will not be showing who the submissions are from. This is not as ODD as the prizes, since other contests have done the same.
What is the theme? Well, I said it: "If you build it... will it fly?". That, too, is an ODD theme and therefore can only indicate that this is an ODDroc Descon.
