Wow, I'm surprised! I'd spoken with Joe before LDRS and spent quite a while talking to him both at LDRS and afterwards. He even loaned me a transmitter (offered me two; should've taken him up on it!) and a receiver for my Level 3 attempt. He then helped track not only my rocket, but those of many others.

Hopefully Joe's just having a "bad week" and things improve for you.

Don't feel bad. I ordered a piece of equipment from a vendor who sent it to the wrong address without using a tracking carrier or registering the product. The guy sent it US. mail cheap. The first time, I received a package two months after it had been sent. Being on the dumb side, I thought I would tried ordering another item. This item never showed up and I ended up paying half. When I suggested that he use UPS to send packages, he got upset.

Bottom line, it is "pot luck" out their in itsy bitsy rocket vendor land.

Hell, I am still waiting for my Tripoli magazines I never got three years ago. Ever the optimist am I.

I just bought nose cones from Public Enemy and he refused to ship them. Refused to let me pick them up. Refused to even deliver them at a rocket launch I was at anyway he claimed he was going to as well. Painful.

He made me drive to Lucerne to meet him outside of a restaurant on a ROC launch weekend to hand him the currency in exchange for plastic. Felt like a drug deal.

And don't even start on fiberglass nose cone "suppliers" three took my money ~$1000+ and never delivered a thing. One delivers about 3 cones a year on average when I order 500.

And one takes mold masters and claims a flood wiped out their shop but later brags he has the masters just fine but I cannot have them back and I screwed him somehow. Yet he has never delivered a thing and refuses to return my tooling either. Ah, the benefits of exposure to noxious chemicals :)

This industry is repleat with folks who refuse to either shit or get off the pot.

"Jerry Irvine" > He made me drive to Lucerne to meet him outside of a restaurant on a ROC

how would you know what a drug deal "felt like" if you didn't have prior experience with drug deals ?

I got the same thing. The filter for "Dave Grayvis" is working great. I just wish folks would quit acknowledging him. Then I'd never have to see his posts (and maybe he'd get the idea to go back under his rock [or bridge]).

Ohh, come on Bad Bob.

You don't wonder who he is ?

I sometimes do, but I would never loose sleep over it.

Actually, no, I could care less. He was given many chances to backup his accusations and didn't. All he was/is doing is trolling.

Which alias?

Dave Grayvis or the other two?

What I don't understand is if he "really" has something to say, why not come on with a real name (like me) and say it. There is no liability for posting fact unless it is somehow priveledged or ordered sealed.

well, for what it's worth, FlisKits uses USPS Priority mail and we have a 99.99+% success rate. To date only one package has been lost and we haven't given up yet as it's only a couple of weeks late and was going international. (the ordered kits were replaced and received since)

As for UPS, my personal success rate with them is less than 50% when I'm sending something out and **far** lower when I am supposed to receive something shipped by them.
