My "PentaMax" injectors for the 54mm motors tend to produce a smooth-as-silk burn, due to the use of multiple, smaller-orificed injectors. For any given flow area, going with multiple smaller injectors to make up that area is always a win--it improves mixing, droplet formation, and also pressure isolation, as you point out. There's a reason that "real" rocket motors use hundreds of tiny little injector orifices--because the big boys have already gone down this road.
On the larger hypertek injectors, there's this really-clever (I think) arrangement where the kline valve is used only for filling the motor--once the motor starts, all the flow discharges through multiple small injector ports, drilled to produce a "swirl" pattern. I'm willing to bet that those swirl injectors produce less of a tendency to buzz and scream than a single injector with the same flow area.
