you see the clubs/orgs that have committed.. TRA itself is not on the list. It's rumored that TRA will at some point do "at least $1k", as that's what NAR has done. It should also be noted that TRA was actually paid for the rights to film at LDRS!

2) If something like the 1st TV/DSC thing happens again (if this one gets good ratings, they'll want to do it again!), maybe if clubs/teams start including a URL on their t-shirts (local club/team and/or NAR/TRA sites), a few 15 second spots could turn into seeing URL's through-out the broadcast, without a $70k cost!

Or better. T-ShirURL's can never replace a commercial.

What they SHOULD do if this goes over well is Make that part of the contract. we get 1 15sec commercial (or hell 30 seconds) per hour per showing and then make THAT payment for the rights to do it.

that is what I would do.

How much royalty did Chris Pearson, LDRS founder, get?

That's not what I would do, but something with a similar effect but giving up no revenues.

now what incentive does discovery have to do that ?

That's a whole lot beter idea than what is being done now. Get your ad built right into the show. Just like the major sports venues do with all the banner advertizing...

Of course. Too bad they weren't smart enough in advance to trade a few bucks for the free advertizing.

good idea but it can not replace commercials. and we need them to be the FIRST commercials in a commercial "segment" so anyone remotely interested in rockets can HEAR or SEE it before tivo'ing forward through them.

I guess if Ray Halm can but big Aerotech logos on a "scale" Arcon or Aries, we can put "

" on the side of some big honken rocket.

No, you want the URL to be the huge feature. How about "

formatting link
" where the "A" is the logo.

Actually for a NIRA booth I was thinking of stenciling our URL and logo onto a Dude, and filling it with helium for booth use. maybe put the NIRA logo in one of the "O"s...

Triangular as in a pyramid? Then it's name would have to be:

The Giant Flying NAR Logo Advertising Rocket *of Death*

Make it a flex-wing glider... lots of space to fit a logo on that! Like a Deltie Thunder upscaled 4x...
