Hey.
A buddy of mine wants to build a model of the air racer Dago Red, and I'd like some opinions about which 1/72nd scale P-51D is the best kit to start with for such a conversion. The real plane's conversion is basically limited (externally) to clipped wings, removal of armament and low-profile canopy/windshield, so the conversion of the model doesn't look all that involved.
Are there decal sets available? Is the canopy available? Has anybody you know done this before?
