today I picked up Revells new Breguet Atlantic for a extremely reasonable ?22, and first impressions are quite positive.
The kit is myriad of white parts with nice detail. There's a lot of interior detail, including a nice cockpit fully detailled weapons bay, with the bay doors optionally open or closed, including torpedoes and depth charges; the exterior recessed panel lines are nice enough, although not quite on a par with Revells Tornado and Phantom kits in 1/72nd.
The main fuselage is in four parts, the cockpit section being seperate. The search radar 'dustbin' can be assembled retracted or extended. One set of spoilers on each wing can be set in the raised position.
There are seperate lower aft fuselage panels for either Dutch and French or German aircraft which differ in the sono buoy panels. Different antennae for each version are fitted to these. For the German option wingtip ESM pods are included, while the German and French version can be equipped with what looks like a FLIR pod.
The decal sheet is larger than A4, with markings for one aircraft each of the German Marineflieger (61+11, MFG5), Dutch Koninklijke Marine (254, 320 Squadron) and French Aeronavale (66, 24 Flotilles).
All in all, a great leap forward from the Mach 2 thingy (duh). If there are any questions, fire away.
