Otherise I'm inclined to agree. Though they do seem to get round to them eventually. Even if it takes a quarter of a century! (SRN4 for example)

IIRC the Angel Interceptor is a very rare kit these days. Perhaps Airfix no longer own the tool, or a license to make Captain Scarlet products.

Imai also made one in the ever popular 1/90th scale in the late-'80s. Don't know how it compares to the Airfix kit...

I remember back when everyone thought that Airfix would be the next company to go the way of the Dodo, Squadron was dumping the Angel interceptors for 99¢ each. Bought one, should have bought 20..... Would have given new meaning to the term "Blue Angels"....

How did you get on with the Scammell? I've got one to build next week. Are the wheels still ok, and is the flash bad? I want ot use the Matador models conversion for the trailer.

I always liked the Fouga (not to be confused with the Miles) Magister - I think its the butterfly tail. The Airfix kit is a little basic as I recall (its in the stash, and a little out of reach in the bottom of a tea-chest in the loft!). I WILL build it ... some day ... honest ....

I saw one of these on static display at an air display. It was TINY! Amazingly low to the ground too. Lovely little aircraft (and not, as I remember from the Airfix kit, covered in boiler-plate rivets!).

I remember railway specific figures and accessories from Airfix in the polythene. I bought a box once for my son and I believe the survivors are still around.

I have one of these almost complete and it's been holding there for over a decade. I just haven't gotten a round tuit.

The figures you mention Bill, Were the civilians set I think, I had a set when I was a child and always remember them fondly, Sets like these often come up on EBay as do most of the kits I`ve mentioned but sadly I prefer to build them rather than keep them as collectors pieces so they are rather too expensive I will just have to hope that some of these kits get reissued next year!! Out a couple of years ago (or maybe a bit longer - 50th anniversary of DDay!)

Some are available from Bum. Very appropriately named stuff. Lots of flash on some figures. Accessories such as artillery, tents, etc. are many, many times over scale. More playsets than anything else, but at least you can obtain some of the long unavailable Airfix figures.

Most of the Airfix polythene soldier sets are available from a firm called Hat. The same firm also makes its own soldier sets in the same scale and has some polystyrene AFVs in 1/76 designed for wargamers but a fair basis for display models with some work.

We've seen some very unlikely re-releases from Airfix in the last few years. I'd say you might well be lucky enough to see most of your wish list re-appear.

Airfix sold all of the railway series moulds to Dapol. Last time I checked the civilian figures were still in production from them, as were most of the locomotives, Cheers, Bill.
