alt.binaries.models.scale

I noticed that many here do not have access to binary groups, especially alt.binaries.models.scale, except for me and the Mad Modeler from this group. In the last, almost two months there are only 7 posts, the earliest being July 17th, and only two of which contain pics. 1 by Mad Modeler and 1 by me. Should we just abandon a.b.m.s and post model pictures on one of the free picture hosting services? It's nice to read what what modelers are doing, but even better to see what the results were.

Just sayin'.

A photo hosting service where you can paste in a URL is going to be a lot more flexible, I'd think.

The provider I use does not keep binaries (free service, so there has to be a limit).

I have access to ABMS...I just haven't been building, therefore I got no pictures to post.

OK, Thanks. Over the years, I have posted a lot of model pics over in a.b.m.s of some models built some 30+ years ago and some newly built models, but apparently, very few from here either never saw them or responded that they did see them. Not that I am looking for complements, but just an acknowledgment that someone had seen them and I wasn't wasting my time and bandwidth. I have hundreds of built models, mostly 1/35 WWII military armor, vehicles, and figures, and also 1/72 WWI and WWII aircraft and some armor and vehicles, stored in a dozen under-bed plastic storage boxes dating back to 1976. I like looking at them and thought others would too.

Sure Bill, we all like looking at models and yours would interest everyone. I kind of suspected that nobody was coming over to abms any more when no one commented on my last post.

I really like a.b.m.s, rather than the free pic sites. It's just so much easier and I don't have to leave usenet to see pictures. I save hundreds of keystrokes a day by not clicking through all the steps in the free pic hosting sites just to see a pic. I subscribe to four binary newsgroups, a.b.m.s, a.b.p.woodworking, a.b.p.autos, and a.b,p.military. I pay $65.95 a year, or $5.50 a month for 5.37 GB monthly access, so I can visit and post in any binary group I choose. The most I have ever used in one month was 1.19 GB. Most GB used is from a.b.p.auto and a.p.b.military.
