for a downloadable entry form, a printable map to the contest and more information. Our theme this year is the "Fabulous Forties" and "anything goes" with this theme! Five very special awards will be presented for modeling excellence, handcrafted from Louisiana Cypress. We are still lining up vendors for this event, so if you would like table space for this event, please contact me directly at snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com.

If you need contest flyers, directions, or have a question, please contact me at the E-mail address posted above. We have enhanced a few catagories and added some new ones as well, so we believe we have a wonderful mix that allows everyone to get involved.

If you have never attended one of our contests, you will be delighted to know that we are situated ashore adjacent to the USS Kidd DD-661, a fully-restored WWII /Korea veteran, and your paid contest entry also gives you full admission to the Kidd herself! The Louisiana Naval Warfare Museum is one of the nicest around, hosting the South's largest collection of model ships, ship artifacts, a tremendous wealth of donated uniforms, memorabalia and artifacts, incredible displays and tributes to the men and women who have served and continue to serve, and, if the mood hits you, two casino riverboats within walking distance! It doesnt get any better than this! Here is what we have on tap:

Your models! Run whatcha brung! Vendors! you want vendors, we got vendors! A MONSTER raffle! Check our homepage for photos from last year. We have some demo's on tap for this year, and we hope to add more. Enhanced catagories with new additions. A downloadable and printable registration form at our website. Save time, do it at home! Wouldn't miss it. I and about 8 of my buddies from Lafayette will be there! Look forward to it each year - a great show.

It'll be hard not seeing Jerry there though.

**Important update Baton Rouge Contest September 17th****

Due to the unfortunate events of Hurricane Katrina, and the obvious destruction of lives, property and infrastructure, Cajun Modelfest XXI slated for Saturday September 17th is on hold until further notice. The USS Kidd museum is currently closed, and the River Center is being used as an evacuee staging and assembly area. Many of our Gulf South modelers are missing or unaccounted for. Travel from the East is difficult at best, and impossible along portions of Interstate 10. Under Governer Blanco's decree, there are no avialable hotel accomodations; all accomodations are being diverted to evacuees at this time.

Please visit our website at

and the official IPMS/USA website for updated information.

We will be back!
