Correct markings F-89D 75th FIS

I'm am considering starting with the Revell 1/48 F-89D kit, representing the 21894 belonging to the 75th FIS. For this purpose I bought the RepliScale decal set which has the sharkmouth and the checkers for the tail and the rocket pods.

The same plane is depicted as a 1/72 kit by Revell (and a drawing in the 'In Action'), but the markings differ. Most notably the RepliScal decals cover only the outside of the pod, which is more in common with the markings of the F-89H later on. Another difference is the squadron emblem on the tail.

Which set of markings is correct? I can't find any pictures in books or on the internet of this plane (21894).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

May your build the perfect model in 2007, Axel
