Final Top Coat for Alclad

Jan 29, 2004 5 Replies

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I've just begun to use Alclad and so far have found it excellent, but I've read that it can be a delicate finish. If so, can I ask what you all use in order to "seal" it? Is it just the usual Future/Klear, acrylic laquor, matt varnish etc, or is there something else which I need to use.

Thanks in anticipation

I use a sealer but only because of the decals. Alclad is tough enough to withstand masking with duct tape!

What sealer? Depends on the effect I want. My current favorite is Future, sometimes with a bit of Tamiya flat base added.

Thanks for your help. Based on what I've heard, I'll leave it as it is.
