Hey Al! I didn't see that in the Hobby Lobby flyer or on the web. Where'd you get it from? Jerry 47

My bad, Al. I didn't know we were "crafters" under their new ad layout. Jerry 47

one more idiot asks me if i'm reliving my childhood, i'm gonna give him a g.i. joe enema.

So much better than "adults who play with toys"!

No Fair :-( our's just got the HobbyCraft boxing of Trumpeter 1/32 P-38s ($129) and F4Us ($69) and the Mono B-36s went 1/2 off two weeks ago and I STILL don't have the play money for any of 'em. Wonder if they'd let me trade some stuff back in? :-)

I hit the Gardendale, AL HL this morning at 9AM. Picked up the Hobby craft boxings of the Trumpeter P-38J/L ($59.99) and F4U-1D ($29.99). I'm not sure I'd pay full price for these kits, but to get both for a total of $45.00 ain't too bad !! I'm not sure how they'll build up, but they look impressive in the box. They also had the HC boxing of the Trumpeter F-105D, but I nabbed one of those at the last 1/2 price sale.

congrats, a very nice score.

Our Hobby Lobby just started carrying Dragon 1/35 scale armor. I picked up the new King Tiger and a 251/1 Ausf. D 3-in-1 for $18 each.

One of our local stores had the HC/Trump. Corsair mismarked at $24. I figure $12 wasn't too much to pay!

Picked up the Hase. B-25J for a little over $20 with tax. Not too shabby a day.

of the new Revell U-boats. Unfortunately for me, I didn't want a U-boat or anything else they had. I guess my kit desires have all been fulfilled. Jerry 47

Heh, several people sure looked at me wierd tonight when I scored the Revell 1:400 Queen Mary II and a nice '51 Chevy long sedan tonight. The QMII comes in a pretty large box & was $45 w/ discount! Guess I'll find out how good the kit is before long, well, after I complete the old Iron I've got on the bench right now.

'51 Chevy long sedan? Is that like the fastback version?

The stars finally lined up for me and I found an MRC/Atomic City 1/12 Mercury Capsule in stock during the 1/2 price sale. These can be a little tricky to find because, more often than not, they get put in the model rocket aisle.

Yuppers, '51 Chevy Fleetline (2dr sedan) the fastback. Comes w/ the 216

6 cyl & dual rochester carbs & a chrome valve cover. Wide whitewalls on the box are and fender skirts. AMT 38274 (2005).

Used to own a '52 4dr sedan (not the fleetline), it was a real POS for a

Yeah, the HL had one of those, too. Still didn't want it. Jerry 47

Also, don't forget all paint brushes are 50% off. I'm going to spend about US$20.00 on new brushes this week. Jerry 47

I think a lot of it is the sales staff prices the kits based on what the computer printout tells them to, if you don't know anything about the hobby, you don't know if that Trumpeter 1/32 F-105D is supposed to be $100, versus the $50 the printout says.

My best grab ever was an Academy 1/32 F/A-18C for $20, no sale. Found one marked as $40, when it rang up, the cashier mentioned that it was discontinued, so the sell price was ½ the sticker, I didn't argue, handed her the money, got my change, and got out of there. Still haven't built the thing yet.

Don't feel bad Bill, the nearest one to me is 2 hours away, thankfully I have to go there for work every so often, so I always make the detour to check.
