German camouflage with Vallejo

Hi, I just found this forum. For years I'm using Humbrol paint, but knowing the problems with this manufacturer I'm looking for another brand. Do you have experience with VALLEJO paint? Which Vallejo number do I have to use for the German dark yellow, red brown and dark green? Thanks & bye. Frank

IIRC, Vallejo is the new name for the Aeromaster line of paint. If so, it's excellent quality. I don't recall which colors are which, however.

Thanks for replying. Is it really mat like Humbrol? Do you need more than 1 layer of paint for a good view? Thanks & bye. Frank

Vallejo have two ranges Model Color for brush painting and Model Air for airbrushing. They are not Aeromasters. They're from Spain I beleive and if your a figure painter they are a staple. Not my preffered airbrushing paint more because they are fragile and can have problems with thinners. But as brush painted colours they are great. They dry with a slight sheen, they are acrylics and you need to thin with distilled water of there thinner.

Another question. Can I put Humbrol paint on a base of Vallejo? Thanks & bye. Frank

Humbrol Enamel or Humbrol acrylic. In either case yes. I'd let it dry for a day though.

vallejo has a slight sheen and would need a dullcoat. Its very fragile paint if you dont use some sort of clearcoat. For brush painting you need to thin 2 or 3 parts thinner if brush painting and more thinner much more thinner if airbrushing. I like Vallejo for brush painting but never use it anymore for airbrushing. Just my oppinion
