Great Eastern Steamship, Revell = Entex?

Does anyone know if the Entex kit of the Great Eastern (advertised as

1/400) is really the same as the Revell (listed as 1/388) ?

Oh, just another one of those projects that I'll never get to....

says that both are the same.

This site shows the cover of the Revell model & lists it as 22-1/4" long (36.7 cm). If the Entex kit is the same length then....

Thanks for the URL to the article. It does suggest that the Extex and Revell are the same. Extex frequently reissue other companies kits so it makes sense. But you never know for sure sometimes until you can put them side by side!

This site is an excellent reference for model ships. It has capsule reviews and a pretty extensive listing of plastic ships listed and what the origins are/were.

For the Great Eastern:

Great Eastern [1/388?] {H-393/05201} (iron) Editor's Note: Said to be 22 inches long when completed. It may be a Revell- US kit, dating back to 1963. (DRW)

The only other listing is for the Airfix kit with no detail.

Of Entex they say: GENERAL COMMENTS: Entex was a company reboxing a variety of other manufacturer's kits. There is little internal evidence of the origins of the kits Entex produced. (Brooks), comment dated 20 February 2006
