hi folks,

quick question: other than the calibre of the nose cannon, what are the differences between the messerschmitt bf-109f-2 and bf-109f-4? in other words, what do i have to do to modify the hasegawa bf-109f-2

1/48 to make an f-4. thanks!

This question came up in April--you might want to search the archives for "Me-109 differentiation." The short answer (IIRC) is that F-4s had a different engine, and therefore a different triangle to indicate a different octane gasoline, and there was a change in the windscreen or canopy. Howeever?there is evidence of a great deal of back-fitting and hybridizing between the two marks. The best bet is to work from phots of the specific airplane you wish to duplicate.
