Model show report and new Hasegawa releases for December

Hi all

This weekend is our local club exhibition in Kyoto, together with Doshisha university model club and several individual modelers. Great stuff on display, maybe I can take some pictures tomorrow. Sadly, some people have to work tomorrow (or go back to their prefectures) so some models are gone already. On the other hand, maybe there will be others tomorrow....

Really good stuff I saw:

LL 1/72 Type 96 Model 21 and Hasegawa Type 96 Model 22

That old LL kit has great engraved detail, similar to Otaki kits, but not as obtrusive.

Azure 1/48 Arsenal something C.someting early-war French prototype fighter. Apparently made of wood, it looks very nice indeed, but performance was not on a par with the looks.

Trumpeter 1/72 Bear - wow!!! What a sleek, beautiful airplane.

1/72 Ford Trimotor in Island Airlines colours.

Italeri 1/72 SM.79 with hand-painted camouflage, very nicely done indeed.

Lots of armour models, with a collection of German armored halftracks and some good dioramas.

An excellently finished 1/48 Hawker Typhoon (Tamiya?).

A very nice conversion of a Spitfire Mk.18 converted from a Mk.15 from Hobbycraft or Academy (memory leak...) with hand-painted decals. Very nice Rotol logos on the 5-bladed prop.

A really nicely done IJN Abukuma, put together from kits of Nagara, Kinu, Yura with scratch-built bridge, lots of Fine Molds and other PE details and railings, and wire mesh funnel grilles.

More tomorrow...

New Hasegawa releases:

1/48 new mold Mitsubishi F-1 1/32 new mold Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate 1/72 new mold Heinkel He-111P

and a few others
