need 1/48 Pacific P-47 Razorback parts

OK, I'm working on Neel Kearby's P-47-D Razorback kit using the 1/48 scale Tamiya kit. Using the book "Kearby's Thunderbolts" by John C. Stanaway, there are 2 kit items that are incorrect for the early P-47's used in the Pacific. First the front canopy should have a mirror pod molded into the front of the canopy, hard to describe but like a teardrop shaped bulge with the mirror inside of it instead of the mirror on a post as furnished in the Tamiya kit. Also the centerline drop tank used in the pacific were custom made in Australia for 5th Air Force use and looked different than the European style ones that come in the kit. Are there any aftermarket resin parts for the early style mirror (or a Vacuform canopy maybe?) and a resin Pacific drop tank available anywhere? I already got a resin correction with the correct cowl flaps from Loon models. Just need to know if anyone makes these parts, or has an extra hasegawa canopy from the kit with Kearby's markings? Thanks, Dave Calhoun

Dave, you could take your canopy and make a bulge on top with putty or balsa, then use it as a pattern and vacuform your own canopy.
