OT: Combat DVD Question

I watched one disc last nite and noticed something different about the uniforms. Pvt Braddock wore camo pants and the Vic Morrow character wore a camo helmet. On a recent Mail Call show they had a segment on the US experimenting with camo uniforms in the ETO but stopped it rather quickly as it was discovered that, since the germans had camo uniforms, you could not easily tell who you were shooting at, and the experiment stopped. Curious if they were trying to be realistic in the style of uniforms in

1944 Europe or did they just take the uniforms off the rack and not care....

I've only watched one disc from blockbuster.com dvd rental, can anyone more familiar with the show offer any info if most of the shows deal with behind the scenes drama or are there any all fighting shows.

thx - Craig

There were certainly frequent fire fights, but there was also rather a lot of what might be called 'combat psychology.' One entire episode consisted of Sgt. Saunders being wounded and isolated, and his efforts to get back to friendly lines, mainly by crawling, IIRC. There are several others that drew their story energy from the peril of being a combat soldier, more than from the actual combat, though that of course was the bogie man from which all the tension derived.
