Polar Lights Plastic

why are they the only company that lists what glues to use on their kits, at least in this case the "King Kong Thronester"

My old standard, Testors tube glue which I've used since 1965 is not on the list.

Why are they using something different??????

Well in the past they have used abs instead of styrene plastic. I know the LIS robot was an abs kit and since the Thronester was from that same time frame it may be abs as well. I do believe that all the newer kits are regular styrene. I only used Testors tube for along time since that is what I used as a kid. Then somewhere along the line I tried Weld On #3 liquid and never have used tube glue since. I cannot find Weld On anymore but have been using Tenax for years now. Try Tenax it will work on the Thronester and you may like it enough to put the tube glue away. I have a tube of Testors in my tool box for over a decade and it rarely gets used. I just keep it for a "just in case" scenario.

Where do you get Tenax from?

That's one of the glues sold in my shop and at least one other here in town. Ask your local store to carry it. It's not a big purchase for them to get a box to stock. Several distributors carry it.

I get mine from squadron.com or micromark. The local hobby shop carries it and Hobby Lobby carries Ambroid liquid cement which is good stuff and will work on ABS as well.
