Re: Question for someonme in the U.K.

I have seen advertisements in one of the U.K. based modeling magazines

>about a new edition of the movie "Battle of Britain" that comes packaged >with a CD containing the complete original William Walton musical score, >which was in fact not used in the movie. Does anyone have a lead to a >reliable on-line source for this set? It is not available here in the >U.S.

I think you're talking about the DVD here. On the R2 release, there's an option to play the film with the Walton score as opposed to the Ron Goodwin version. As a side note, only one track of the Walton score was used in the released film (Battle in the Air).

Years ago, there was a CD released that contained both scores. That orginal soundtrack is somewhat rare. It took me bloody ages to get it!

The description doesn't mention William Walton but does say it includes an "isolated musical score", could this be it ?

Hope this helps & happy modelling Ant

I'm currently looking at this (why I didn't think of it before is beyond me). However, I'm having problems getting the file sizes down to an acceptable size (I'm on dial up). I can get most file sizes down to about 500Kb, but they'll have to be in mono. How many people are interested in these tracks?

will help you with good software for encodes, line size and posting software tips. it will show you good stuff that is free. and you can ask me for help, especially for the correctn groups. they don't have to be mono, you can set any part size you want. read that gude and please let me help. on dial up, you can start posting when you go to bed and be all finished before breakfest. no need to tie up your phone during the day. if you get serious about nusic, you may want to see if you can get broadband in your area. but please let me help. people in the groups would like your post.

Right. I've put up a couple of test tracks on alt.binares.sounds. mp3.soundtracks. The first one is the Battle of Britain March by Walton and it's in mono. The second is The Young Siegfrieds and it's in stereo.

If it's what people want, I'll investigate software and Post more.
