Newsflash, the world is going on like it always has been. Plenty, of hardship, war and poverty for everyone who wants it. Plenty of comfort, and success for those willing to work hard, and take care of family, and society as a whole.

There has never been a time in human history without war of some kind........

Todays younger generation has been seriously spoiled with creature comforts, and technology. But even they will come around and see the reality as they grow up. Shame it takes them soo long...........

that will change. when the shit knocks the fan out, as opposed to merely hitting it like now, common sense will make a miraculous come back. cream will rise and garbage will sink. the weak and stupid will die and the smarter rats will know when to let them.

Can anyone honestly say picking a government by random selection, like we do juries, would produce any worse results than picking by who's got the best PR people with the biggest budget?

I've often thought that anyone who actively seeks political office should automatically be barred from it, simply because their ambition is likely to get in the way of their duty.

I hope so but I'd have to be holding my breath. Save some US Marines and Army troops, if you couldn't fight it from behind your computer or from a couch with a remote control, today's generation isn't up to the challenge.
