Where are you displaying your Revell U-boat?

Ok...I'm a 1/72 aircraft guy who is is on the verge of breaking down and buying that U-boat kit. I think I can sneak it into the stash without raising any eyebrows (no mean feat, considering the size of the box). What's stopping me is trying to figure out where I could display the thing should it ever get constructed.

The question is: Where are you U-boat builders putting your completed beast?

Be careful of the small parts. They are delicate...

Amazing! Beautiful! But - aw geez fellas, I gotta ask ... isn't this big lump of plastic just a _bit_ of a waste of space? A 1/72 MayFlower, or Cutty Sark, or Victory .... now ye're talking!

Best to all John

Once it's built, it's going onto the mantle in my living room.

The real question is, where am I going to put the other two?..

I don't have the U-Boat (yet), but I have a Disney Nautalus from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".

It's about 18"x6", made from cast resin with a beautiful bronze patina. Because of the uneven surfaces it is a huge dust collector.

I went to TAP Plastics and ordered a plexiglass display case custom made. Cost was about $85.

Our living room does not have a mantle, but it does have a low brickwork wall about four ft. high meant to have plants or an aquarium on top. I'm looking for a sheet of marble for the toop and the sub goes on top of that.

Every display need has several possibilities, but there is usually only one spouse, usually with veto power :-(

Gotta get the watertight hanger for the the ME163s with floats and folding wings and the ramp and catapult figured out before I worry about how to display it. ;-)

beautiful, yes. Right in my sights. A few torps should make those popsicle stick ships go down fast.
