Custom property question

Hello All,

Does anyone know how to make a custom property that will show the part volume?

TIA, Muggs

Never mind I figured it out. Sorry for wasting your time. Boy I really need that second cup of joe.

Care to let us in on the secret, Muggs? I could use that custom property in my work.

In Custom Properties, set your Value/Text Expression to Volume in the pulldown. It's really this variable: " snipped-for-privacy@Part1.SLDPRT". you can do this for many other Mass Prop values.

Sure, Art,

In the part go to File>Properties and then click on the custom tab. Now in the dropdown in the Property Name column there was no Volume property which promted my post. But, if click on Edit List (upper right corner of the properties window) then you simply type in Volume and hit Add and OK, then it will show up in the Property Name column and in the Value / Test Expression column.

There might (probably) is a better way to do this, but this is what worked for me.

HTH, Muggs

Muggs & Art, There is a "Volume" Property already in Value/Text Expression column. When you click on that cell in that column there is a property "Volume" -

4th one down on my installation of SWX. Or are you after something more?

No, I probably just missed it the first time around.

Thanks, Muggs

Thanks to Muggs, Steve O and Nev!!
