Pan error with weld symbol, etc

We might have snagged another nasty here - please try this and let me know your results. After a few more people confirm it, I'll send it in.

  1. Open or start a drawing with an assy in it.
  2. Create more than one view - put a weld symbol in each one just for testing purposes.
  3. Add another configuration to the assy if it doesn't have more than one.
  4. Change one of the views to the another config..
  5. Click on the weld symbol in the view that is pointing to the config that is the active one in the assy. The assy file doesn't have to be "open" at the time.
  6. Now try to pan the drawing with either the middle mouse button or the toolbar icon. It won't go until you hit B or Q.
  7. A rebuild "unlocks" it and so clicking on a weld symbol in any other view that isn't pointing to the "active" model config will work properly.

Additional observations:

  1. SW2003, SP4. Seems to work ok on SP0, but I don't have anything in between right now.
  2. Same happenings if you try to move a view, rather than pan. The outline will move, but the contents won't show up until you do a rebuild.
  3. Balloons, notes, dimensions, geometrics don't seem to affect it - only weld symbols.
  4. Automatic view update setting doesn't matter.
  5. Hitting B will rebuild and keep the weld symbol selected and things work just fine after that until you click on that weld symbol again.
  6. Doesn't seem to matter if there is more than one weld symbol.

Confirmed on 2004 PR2 as well (still haven't been home long enough to download the release). And it renders ALL of the viewing commands (zoom area, zoom fit, etc) un-usable. Another observation (for what it's worth) - if you "window" select the weld symbol this doesn't happen.

I checked it on 2003 SP3 and there isn't a problem.

Nice find Wayne, please report it right away.

Does anyone have 3.1 running that can try it? That way we can see if it broke in 4.0 only.

Being able to window select and still work would maybe fit in with doing a B to get it to work, and the weld symbol is still selected.

Wayne,

Same results...I'm running SP 4 as well...

I don't know if anyone else here is running 3 or 3.1.
