SW2008-CTDT on import of UG files

I tried importing UG files into 2008. Both drag and drop and using the Open command caused an immediate CTDT. At the root of it is that SW seems to tell the OS that prt files are SW files which I guess is to keep compatibility with SW95. Maybe for extensions with known multiple personalities they need to have a little more software ettiquette and ask whether you want SW to handle prt or leave it alone.

Strangely, the other day dragging and dropping was working just fine unless I did 20 at a time.

No suggestions straight off the bat. But what version UG files are they do you know? Perhaps a few snuck in that are not compatible with SW2008. NX1 files used to open great for me with SW2007 (thats both prt and prt's as assemblies). Now with a few short tests i've done with SW2008, NX4 files open ok (havnt tried assemblies yet) but NX5 files open, dont show any errors, but don't actually import anything (just shows blank new document as though it did import properly).

Anyways, bit of info i guess.

Still on NX3. I found SW was crashing on a lot of other things including dragged and dropped SW parts. I ended up uninstalling and attempting a reinstall.
