Where are the Clubs

There's one in Kalamazoo, one in Battle Creek and one in Dowagiac. I'm sure there are others, but those are 3 I'm familiar with (I'm a member of the Dowagiac club).

Moving to Kalamazoo? Let me be the first to welcome you to Model Railroad Hell. I can't comment on the Battle Creek or Dowagiac clubs but I can tell you a bit on the Kalamazoo club:

-If watching things progress at a snail's pace excites you, then they're the club for you.

-If you like to spend months agruing about the same unimportant BS, then they're the club for you.

-If you like clubs where everyone complains about why nothing gets done while they all sit in the lounge doing nothing, then they're the club for you.

-If you like hanging out with people that will trap you in a corner every week telling you the same story about how they used to be an engineer, then they're the club for you.

Most of the normal model railroaders in town look at the Kalamazoo club as being a group of wannabes. If you're looking for info on how to hook up with normal guys stop by the Riders in Kalamazoo on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening and ask for Fred or Elliot. They can set you straight. There's a small group of N scalers that run in the back room of the store every other Friday and there are plans to get a HO modular group going soon. Get hold of the guys at Riders. They'll hook you up.
