Anson photos

I've finally got around to captioning all the 70 odd pictures I took at the Anson open evening. I was surprised to find I liked the Otto-Crossleys quite so much, but also found the opportunity to take some more photos of my favourite Gardner, the 4 FHM.

Hi Kim, Thanks for the pictures. I couldn't go on the night. Do you know that the lovely stained glass windows came from the offices of the Vulcan Foundry Steam loco works at Earlstown. I remember them from when I maintained their telephone system many years ago.

What is an Otto and Langen engine like running? That the 1876-on four stroke engines were called the Otto 'silent' must say something about its predecessor.

Hi Nick, I was lucky enough to have been there with my camera on the very first time they got an Otto to fire. Listen to the shouts as it fired. See
