Back home

Gentlemen,

Have just spent the last fortnight in a hotel with only my mobile to check on Emails, have any of you done anything interesting in the last couple of weeks.

If anybody wants anything collected in Manchester area I am up there for a couple of days this coming week and the following week I am in Norwich for the whole week.

Hi Martin, Welcome back, I thought you'd been quiet.

I've been spending evenings of the last fortnight playing with, and getting to know my newly installed lathe. I've been machining a casting to produce a Bamford fuel jet. It's a terribly shaped thing to hold but I haven't wrecked it yet. I'm very much a newbie where lathework is concerned, so it takes me ages to figure out set-ups and to get the casting running true. It is extremely satisfying to take a casting which looks like a sausage someone stepped on, and make it into a useful item.

To help this project along, does anyone have a 1/4 BSP die and/or a 3/8 Brass thread (3/8 BSB) tap excess to requirements, which they might swap for beer tokens.

Regards, Arthur G

Arthur, Shame I did'nt pick this up last night, been to model engineering show in london today and could have found it there. Look at Chronos or RDG Tools web sites.
