Fabricating Tank Straps

Hi I need to make from scratch (No old ones to pattern) two tank straps for a round Aspera Rotovator any tips on getting it right? I am using 1mm aluminium sheet. Cheers CJ

1mm aluminuim not the best material to use for this sort of thing, as its not really strong enough, and you could having problems with failure due to vibration. CRS steel strip would be a much better bet, and 2mm thick can be formed into the shape you need pretty easily. k

Try some pallet strapping. Found in many dumpsters.
